Faultlines: When an unknown band try their best not to mention their unknown single.. the awkward saga.

So Faultlines was released yesterday…


Did we try to bury it? 


Well, no… not completely (ish)


I love Faultlines, for me it was one of the first songs we wrote where our sound was complete. I also love the fact that it has this brooding dark disco heart whilst trying to covey a quite linear narrative…mortality. 


‘You act like you should just last??’ 


So pre-pandemic 2020 was going to be our year (lets not rule this out yet though 😐) we had a support slot with SPRAY and we were ready to conquer the North-West following a pretty solid year of gigging and slowly building a base, we just needed that break through single...enter Faultlines a really immediate angsty song that hopefully would force people to take notice. We sent it to the stores mid-January for release just before our SPRAY support slot. 


2020 had other plans. 


Enter Fragile, an EP we couldn’t have envisioned writing a few months ago, an EP we knew had to be released ASAP, an EP that pretty much took over everything at Last Clouds HQ, to the point that we forgot about Faultlines…which is a shame as it had waited so long for its time to be heard.

Faultlines will continue to be a live favourite, every time we practice it we can’t believe how amazing it sounds live...we won’t be pushing it as hard as Fragile, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love it as much, just means that, like so many things in life, the timing was off.
